At Saturday’s War on the Shore 3 boxing event at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre, Gibsons’ George Vourtsis will fight Parksville middleweight Brandon Busby, fighting out of Lestage Boxing, in a four-round main event.
Vourtsis’ scheduled opponent for the B.C. Middleweight title, Vancouver’s Ari Ashari, had to withdraw due to an eye cut suffered in a fight April 10 in Langley.
“Busby is a big puncher and trains with some of Canada’s top pro boxers,” said Sunshine Coast Boxing Club founder Rick Shannon.
This and other bouts featuring local boxers and others from throughout B.C. are featured on the card.
