The U15 boys Balls Reunited rep soccer team captured the top prize at last weekend's Lynn Valley tournament in North Vancouver.

Carson Anderson led the team in scoring, while 11-year-old brother Cameron led the team in heart, according to head coach Brent Sheppard, as Balls Reunited competed against much bigger and older players.

The Coast boys looked a bit nervous in their first game, but saved a 1-1 tie against the LV Spitfires.

In game two, Balls Reunited took on the top team in their division, the LV Vipers. Balls Reunited took an early lead and never looked back, cruising to a 6-2 win.

LV Nighthawks was next up for the Coast lads in game three and again Balls Reunited played a great team game, winning 2-0.

"The boyslooked confident with great team play and played some of the best soccer I've seen all year," said Sheppard. "Gus Edwardson controlled the midfield in this game, inspired by his grandfather from the sidelines, Ab Haddock."

Hungry Abbotsford Hurricanes were next up in game four, but Balls Reunited continued to look strong in a 4-2 win.

"It wasn't a pretty a game in the rain and snow on a gravel field, but by this time the boys understood that a win meant they would win it all and refused to give up a single challenge," added Sheppard. "After the first game, the boys gelled together so well it was just a treat to watch them compete. They represented the Sunshine Coast with pride. We were even told at a local restaurant when we went out for dinner that the boys were the best soccer team they had ever served. I want to thank all the parents as well who drove the boys everywhere and cheered them on standing on the sidelines in the rain all weekend."
