Max Joe has been on fire since the whistle blew on the season a month ago and hasn’t let up since.

The Storm FC U13 boys soccer team continue on their incredible undefeated record that started a month ago and seem to be getting better, smoother and more precise with each game. With fantastic new players adding depth and determination to the squad, coaches Martin Blackwell and Mike Cowie have ear-to-ear grins knowing that the tools they have been instilling in this wild bunch for the last few seasons are really sinking in and they can move on to more advanced strategies of play, with results.

A solid 4-1 win at home last week against Burnaby paved the way for the most recent journey for our Storm boys, into the city playing at the slick new turf of the Empire Fields beside the PNE, against the Italian SC Napoli team. It was a challenge, to say the least, but the Storm walked away with another 4-1 win under their belt.

Every member of the team is bringing a real sense of confidence and professionalism to the game, making it very difficult for any opponent to really slow this machine down. Truly solid defence that creates an almost impenetrable barrier at the back in front of great new goaltending personalities, stylistic precise midfield play giving way to a fantastic advanced forward group of assassins who will stop for no one in pursuit of goals.

The season is young, the team is eager and the coaches are dedicated, so really the only question left is where will you be during their next home game here this Saturday, Sept. 30, 2 p.m. at Shirley Macey Park. Let’s hope you make the wise choice and see some wicked local sports in all its youthful glory.
