The London Jr. Knights proved to be too much for Sechelt's Scott Legault and the Vancouver North West Giants last weekend at the Telus Cup.
After rolling through the preliminary round of the 33rd annual National Midget Championship with a 4-0 record with wins over Winnipeg, Halifax, St. John's and the Lions du Lac St. Louis from Quebec, London tripped up the Giants 4-1 last Friday night in the final preliminary round game, then pulled off another upset, 4-3 in overtime in Saturday's semifinal, to end the title hopes for the Giants.
Legault split goaltending duties with Daniel Cotton in the Giants opening 12-5 win, was in net for the win over St. John's and took the loss in the Friday game against London.
The Giants couldn't recover from the semifinal loss as they dropped the bronze medal game Sunday morning to Quebec 5-3 to finish fourth. Legault was in net for the loss.
