Sunshine, trails and Easter egg hunt

Sunshine Coast Trail Series
trail run
A field of 64 runners participated last Saturday in the second race of the Sunshine Coast Trail Series.

Connor Park in Halfmoon Bay quickly filled up last Saturday morning with excited runners ready for their first or next trail race. This was the second race in the Sunshine Coast Trail Series put on by Team Wolverine Athletics highlighting the trails on the Lower Sunshine Coast.

The runners enjoyed a mix of trails with roots and rocks keeping them on their toes as they completed either a 5k or a 10k run. As an Easter special, 10 Easter bags with chocolate eggs, made by local business Dorothy Ellen Designs, were hidden on the trails as an extra surprise for the runners.

With runners from the Sunshine Coast, the Lower Mainland and even a few from Kelowna and as far away as Portland, the field of 64 runners was a mix of ages and abilities with one common interest – to have fun on the trails.

1. Will Rice - 25:25

2. Gary Westcott - 26:00
