The Squamish Wizards claimed their second straight CohoKings men's fastball tournament title during a rain-soaked weekend in Gibsons.

Squamish upended the Burnaby/Poco Dukes team 9-6 in Sunday's final. Squamish beat the Surrey Rebels in last year's tournament championship.

The Richmond Canadians won the third/fourth place game as they defeated the Rebels 8-1.

Only six teams were on hand this weekend, but all six teams were strong, and there were many great games to watch, despite the weather.

The CohoKings would like to thank Ernie Barnum and Mike O'Reilly for all their hard work umpiring. Also many thanks to Quagmire and Joanne McConnell for running the beer garden and concession stands for both days. Hopefully next year's tournament will bring back our faithful fans and fill the stands again.

Sunshine Coast Men's League action continued last week with Lons Crane thumping Custom Carpet by an 11-0 score. Good pitching and defence were the keys to victory for Lons Crane.

Last Friday night, Custom Carpet rebounded and tied the Gibsons Blue Jays 7-7 while the Gibsons Pirates demolished the Inlet Raiders 16-4. Solid hitting up and down the lineup was key to the Pirates win.
