The U14 Spartans chalked up their third straight victory with a convincing 6-2 win over the North Vancouver Celtic last Saturday.
Celtic struck first, but the Spartans rallied when Austen Perry finished a pass from Jordan Hoy.
Austen returned the favour when he fed a ball to Jordan, and Jordan made no mistake putting the ball in the back of the net for a 2-1 lead.
Caleb Burnham scored the sweetest goal with a nice header. Austen and Caleb scored their second goals of the game and Miles Lavigne finished off the Spartan scoring.
Defencemen Coleton Windsor and Felix Rankin had very strong games, shutting down the Celtic attack. The Spartan midfield was dominated by Gareth Hodges and Miles Lavigne who continually fed balls up to the strikers. Jordan Wilson dominated as the Spartan goalie.
U15 boys
The Predators' perfect season came to an abrupt end on a muddy pitch in North Vancouver against the Stealth last Saturday.
The Stealth came out hungry and had Predators down 2-0 within the first six minutes. Stealth added another to make the score 3-0 at the half.
The Predators came out with a little more intensity in the second half and 10 minutes in, got their first goal of the game. Elliot Cayer sent a pass to Elvis Lu, who laid the ball off to Shale Douglas, who found the top corner from the edge of the penalty area. The Stealth bounced back with two more before Darryl Julius hit the net on a nice setup by Ollie Williams. Jason Teitge played a strong game for the Predators who take on Squamish in a cup game tomorrow (Nov. 14).
U11 boys
The Scorpions picked up an impressive 3-0 home win over the Vancouver Gladiators last weekend.
Scorpion defencemen Bradley Huddlestone, Philip Fogarty and Tristan Tidder all played strong games.
Late in the first half, Scorpion midfielder Liam Rankin bent a direct kick just over the head of the Gladiator keeper for a 1-0 lead. Midfielders Grayson Perrier, Eden Klinger and Quintin Towert poured out effort and pounded repeated crosses at the Gladiator goalie.
The second half saw forwards Caio Machado, Kai Moore and Everett August demonstrate outstanding stamina. Liam dropped the hammer again from the 18-yard line, making it 2-0. In the fading moments of the game, Bradley fed the ball upwing to Quintin who delivered a flawless cross to a waiting Grayson for the final goal.
U13 boys
Sunshine Coast United continued its unbeaten start to the season last Saturday, beating Grandview Storm 6-2 at Cliff Gilker Park.
United had several players missing because of injuries, but still managed to overwhelm their visitors from Vancouver. Donnie Dixon scored a hat trick while Will Johnston, Griff Reader and Bryn Davies added singles to solidify United's grip on top spot in the silver division standings.
United plays the South Burnaby Gunners at Cliff Gilker tomorrow (Nov. 14) in the second round of the Commonwealth Cup.
