The U14 Spartans brought home another victory last weekend 3-1 over Kensington Little Mountain (KLM).

Spartans' winning combination of determination, speed and skill revoked any home field advantage KLM might have had. Spartan keeper Jordan Wilson set the tone early with his face-to-face fearlessness, and defencemen Felix Rankin and Hayden Bush assuredly eliminated KLM's scoring opportunities for all but a misplayed corner kick.

Spartan midfielders Simon Gaiga, Wei Chu, Josh Diamond and Austin Perry played strong games, limiting KLM's scoring chances, while forward Gage Selmes took huge offensive strides, opening up the opportunity for Jordan Hoy to drive in two goals with a single from Garreth Hodges.

The undefeated Predators faced the Westburn Warriors at Cariboo Oval last weekend.

Predators started strong with Andrew Strom and Elvis Lu making menacing runs at the opponents, forcing many mistakes by the Warriors. In the ninth minute, a Westburn defender handled the ball in the box. Shale Douglas placed a perfect low ball to score on the penalty kick.

The rest of the half saw chances at both ends, with Darryl Julius making a spectacular save to keep the score 1-0.

The second half saw the Predators midfield of Elliot Cayer, Lee Gye, Andy Blattler and Oliver Williams dominate and frustrate Westburn's attack with hard challenges and quick counter attacks.

Westburn evened the score against the run of play in the 56th minute on a defensive breakdown.

Having much of the play throughout the game, the Predators looked frustrated and struggled to co-ordinate a winning attack until the 78th minute, when Mathew Brenholden took a pass from Shale after great ball movement from Lee and Jack Davies and blasted a ball low near post to record a 2-1 victory.
