Prepare to be dazzled as national and provincial figure skating champions take to the ice alongside local skaters at the SC Skating Club’s annual Performance Night this Thursday, March 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre.
Larkyn Austman, the 2013 junior national champion who represented Canada at the 2014 World Junior Championships will perform, as will B.C.’s pre-novice men’s champion Beresford Clements who hails originally from the Sunshine Coast. Both skaters represent the Connaught Skating Club.
Beresford finished fourth at last week’s Canada Winter Games in Prince George.
The showcase will also feature performances and solos from the SC Figure Skating Club’s up-and-coming young figure skaters and Learn-to-Skate CanSkaters, while CanPowerSkaters are sure to wow the crowd with their speed and agility.
The public is invited to the event, which offers more than $2,000 in raffle prizes and a concession. Admission is by donation.
