Skaters wrap up season with stellar performance

The Sunshine Coast Skating Club was proud to send a group of 15 skaters to the 2024 BC/YT Super Series Victoria Day competition in Surrey earlier this month.

The Sunshine Coast Skating Club was proud to send a group of 15 skaters to the 2024 BC/YT Super Series Victoria Day competition in Surrey earlier this month. The 15 skaters brought home an impressive amount of hardware and ribbons:

Podium pathway events: Juvenile U12 Isabella Watts, new personal best high score 29.11, 7th place.

STARskate Events: Alexa Kovski Star 4 U13 Grade 5 gold medal; Jayda Stevenson Star 4 U13 Grade 2 gold medal; Brielle Avila Star 6 silver medal; Halle McHeffey Star 5 silver medal; Keira Squires Star 4 U10 silver medal; Ally Sato Star 4 U10 5th; Eva Alvarez Star 4 U13 6th; Sasha McDougall Star 4 13 & 0  6th.

STAR Assessments: Alta O’Farrell Star 3 silver; Amelia Nanson Star 3 silver; Ava Turner Star 2 silver; Zyra Nestman Star 2 silver; Jordyn McKinnon Star 2 silver; Maxine Rizzo Star 2 bronze.

This was a great way to end our spring skating season this year and some of these skaters will be preparing for further training elsewhere on the Lower Mainland, and in Kelowna and Victoria during the summer to keep their skills up, learn new programs and continue their training. 

We look forward to seeing these skaters and others back in our skating club programs in early August for our late summer start up.
