Skaters bring home medal haul from Surrey

The Sunshine Coast Skating Club had skaters at the final 2024-25 Super Series Victoria Day Interclub competition this Victoria Day long weekend in Fleetwood/Surrey, B.C.

The Sunshine Coast Skating Club had skaters at the final 2024-25 Super Series Victoria Day Interclub competition this Victoria Day long weekend in Fleetwood/Surrey, B.C. The competition had a large attendance (1,331 skaters) from all over the province, including the Okanagan, North/Central, Lower Mainland, Sea to Sky corridor and Vancouver Island.  

The Sunshine Coast Skating Club had 13 skaters attending, bringing home a total of 11 medals and ribbons, with six Silver and Gold Assessments (ribbons) as well as two silver medals and three bronze medals.

This was our final 2024-25 competition of the season, now the skaters will take a brief break and some will prepare for some summer training.

Several of these skaters had their first chance at skating in Star 2 (Isla Burton/silver, Addy Schmid/silver, Avery Janzen/gold, Simone Wadge/gold) and all had excellent performances. Our Star 3 skaters, Alta O’Farrell and Jordyn Mckinnon both skated to a Silver Assessment. The Star 4 skaters, Ally Sato and Gene Sato brought home a bronze and silver medal respectively. Alexa Kovski skated to a bronze medal in Star 5 and Star 7 skaters, Brielle Avila placed 6th and Isabella Watts achieved a silver medal. Jayda Stevenson skated in the Pre-Juvenile category and placed 9th. Tracy Parker skated in the Adult Silver Artistic and was awarded a bronze medal.

All of these skaters are to be congratulated on their hard work and successful achievements now and throughout this past season.
