The Sunshine Coast Skating Club’s Skater of the Month for September is Teigan Turner. Teigan is a 15-year-old Grade 10 Chatelech Secondary student who loves creating her own choreography and expressing herself through her skating. Teigan is going to compete in Juvenile U15 this season in the competitive stream as well as Star 7 Artistic in Star Stream. She attended spring ice in the city in April, May and June and attended Burnaby 8 rinks for two weeks in July. She attended all August ice onward on the Coast, along with dryland training. She participated in the program assistant training for Canskate and gives back by assisting on those sessions when possible. “Teigan is positive, polite, respectful and is a good role model for younger skaters,” the club said in its announcement. “Keep up the good work, Teigan!”
