Skater of the Month for May is Justine Hoehne. Justine moved up from CanSkate to Jr. Academy this season and continues to improve rapidly. She received a Gold assessment at her first competition VISI Super Series in Parksville in April. Her professional coaches, Lesleigh Farr and Darryl Austman, say that Justine always brings a smile and great attitude to the ice. She is very coachable and participates in both on- and off-ice classes. Justine is 11 years old and attends Grade 5 at Kinnikinnick Elementary School in Sechelt. Justine says she loves seeing her coaches and her friends when she goes skating. She says she loves going to skating because she wants to become better than she was yesterday. She enjoys gliding around the ice because she can be herself. Her favourite things to do are the loop jump, forward upright spin, spirals and learning new moves. When Justine is not skating she likes to dance, do track and field, play the ukulele and be with her friends. Congratulations, Justine!
