Sunshine Coast Skating Club’s Skater of the Month for February is Teigan Turner.
Teigan’s coaches, Lesleigh Farr and Daryl Austman say, “Teigan has committed in every way to improving. She has received additional mental prep training, attends dryland and on-ice training, moved up a level this year, receiving bronze at her first competition and silver at her second competition, Regional Championships. Teigan helps on Canskate when needed and has been actively helping with club fundraising efforts. She recently performed her solo at the Canada/China Invitational Youth Hockey Tournament along with five other teammates. We applaud you, Teigan. Keep up the good work.”
Teigan is 11 years old and attends Grade 6 at West Sechelt Elementary School. What Teigan says she loves about skating is the feeling of air in her face, the freedom and accomplishment of learning a new skill. Her favourite thing in skating is spinning and jumping. When Teigan is not skating she likes to spend time with family and friends, dance, swim and ski.
