In the women's league this week in Gibsons, Sita's Sistahs and Mayhem battled to a 1-1 draw.

Sieani Doobay scored for Sita's while Jazz Nebiocat hit the mess for Mayhem.

Ya Yas also played Mayhem to a 1-1 tie with goals from seasoned strikers Trina Giesbrecht and 'Flyin' Alvina Paul.

Blazers continued their winning ways in a 4-2 win over Fusion with a pair from Christine Campbell and singles from Jen Bridgeman and Jackie Ostrovsky, while Leslee Cooper scored for Fusion. Congratulations to Fusions' Stephanie 'Cinderella' Grindon who scored her first goal after nine years in the league. After spending years cleaning up the backline, while her fast-stepping sisters up front took the limelight, Grindon decided she was going to the ball, and ran up and hammered one on the 18, smashing it like a pumpkin into the back of the net.

Only two men's games this week - at Hackett, CPU took the match, and if the upcoming municipal contest was determined by how well one could smack a soccer ball, it would be Ken Campbell for mayor, as he put away a passel, as did backline boys 'Jumping' Jesse Gemmel and Martin Blackwell, while on the goal line, Glen Coady guarded his net like the demi-centurian he is.

Playing the Chiefs, to quote Forrest Gump, is like a box of chocolates -you never know what team your going to get. This week's team was missing Matt Joe, Scott Johnson and Dexter Craigan, so it was up to Toby Baptiste to put one away.

In theGibsons derby, Ridgepoint took the role of Man City, while Neville Judd's Sita's United played the Man U part, going down 4-2. Ridgepoint's scoring came from Mike Husband, Rich Covell and a pair from Mike Sopow, while for Sita's it was Matt Pence and Tony Duffy, who could never get knocked down during his boxing days, but had a harder time on the wet grass, though hepicked himself up from the penalty area to put away his free kick.
