Sechelt, Gibsons tie at Dempster

Last Thursday (April 28) the Gibsons Midget Coastal Tires team and the Sechelt Athletics played a hard-fought game that finished in a 3-3 tie after seven innings at Ryan Dempster Field.

Sechelt held the lead until the last inning behind the stingy pitching of Griff Troup and Jonah Lussier. In their last at bat with two out and James Duff on third, David Diether smacked a single to left that tied the game.

In White Rock on Sunday, Gibsons handily won both games of a double header with Josh Bozak turning in a strong two innings on the mound. Malcolm Leinberger pitched three scoreless innings in the games played last week.

In Gibsons bantam division action, the Devlins travelled to Burnaby on Sunday where they split a double header, while it was the same result for the Maycon team that took the first game of their double header before losing the second game on Saturday at Ryan Dempster Field.

This Sunday, the Coastal Tires midgets and the Maycon bantams travel to the Lower Mainland for games, while on Saturday the bantam Devlins play a home game at Ryan Dempster Field.
