The U15 Scorpions played at home Oct. 5, against the North Van Fury, in a battle for first place in the league. Moments into the game, Bradley Huddlestone set up Duncan Armstrong for the Scorpions' first goal. As the Fury started to pressure, Scorpions' defenders Keegan Inkster, Cole Cooney, Philip Fogarty and Liam Rankin relied on their speed, strength and ball skills to turn the attackers away. Wingers Finn Rogers, Ben Luporini and Jordan Dunk used their work ethic to assist the defenders and the attackers as the game shifted up and down the field. Jordan Kammerle, being checked by two defenders, got a pass through to Quintin Towert, who was robbed by the Fury keeper. Scorpions' goalie Keeran Peel stopped all the Fury attempts in the first half, which ended with the Scorpions in a 1- 0 lead.
The second half was action packed. Duncan was tripped in front of the Fury net, resulting in penalty shot for the Scorpions, which Everett August converted into a goal. The Fury did not back down, and responded with two goals. Everett set up the Scorpions' third goal of the game, crossing the ball to the front of the net, where Ben popped it by the keeper. The Fury responded again, tying the game at 3. The Scorpions were determined to move into first place and pressured hard, which resulted in a string of scoring chances from Justin Fodchuk, Everett and Liam. Finally Duncan, the man of the match, cracked a huge shot from 30 yards out that landed in the top corner of the Fury net. The Scorpions won 4-3 and are tied with Fury for first in the league.
U15 Boys Blue Thunder vs Green
Both teams came out very strong in the first half. Blue Thunder's Rowan Wildwood and Fergus Shields were very quick at pursuing the ball, tough with defenders and kept up with the opposition. Jericho Craigan at midfield for Green did some great passing and came very close to scoring a few times. His teammates Taran Persson in defence and Gavin Lynagh at forward made some masterful solid plays.
During the second half, Tristan Tidder went through a number of Thunder's defenders and made a very skillful goal. Thunder's Virgil Perkins responded with an awesome goal. Green's Tahj Wagner showed amazing speed and did not stop the pressure throughout the entire game.
Thunder's goalie, Griffin Shields, made some good saves during the last half.

U10 Reds beat HMB Orange Crushes
It was a great weekend for soccer with the U10 B/Red team hosting HMB Orange Crushes to a tough game and a well deserved 4 -1 victory over the Crushes. Both teams played great soccer but B/Red dominated the midfield and great defence, shutting down Crushes forward line. Despite great goal keeping by Sedona, B/Red peppered the net with shots, earning the win. Congratulations, teams, on some great soccer.
