The Scorpions U12 boys' rep soccer team kicked off this year's season with a stellar performance at the annual Chilliwack tournament.

Saturday, Aug. 28, saw the Scorpions sizzle in their first match against Mission, winning 3-1. In the second match of the day, the Scorpions fell victim to the heat and allowed the Burnaby Strikers four goals in the first half. The team came alive in the second half with a vigorous challenge, but lost the match.

Sunday morning the Scorpions faced off against Squamish and came out victorious with a 4-1 result.

The final match of the tournament against a Peace Arch team put the Scorpions to the test, and provided opportunities for both teams to shine.

The game ended in a 0-0 tie, and led to a nail-biter of a shoot out, with Peace Arch taking the win by one goal.

Overall, the Scorpions demonstrated their willingness to bring the best they have to the field. Congratulations to the participating coaches, parents and players for an excellent season opener.
