The Sunshine Coast Rapids Lacrosse Association kicks off its new season with a demo and opening day festivities this Saturday, March 28 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre.
The mini-tyke, tyke and novice teams will have a practice and mini-game from noon to 12:30 p.m., an open floor session to try the game will be from 12:30 to 12:50, then the Rapids will showcase last year’s bantam team, which won a silver medal at the provincial championships.
Pee wee, bantam and midget teams will then practice and have a mini-game from 1 to 1:40 p.m. with a final open opportunity to try the game wrapping up the event.
The association will also be selling tickets to the upcoming wrestling show in May, selling gear and offering a concession as well.
