Playoff positioning is starting to take shape as both the women's and men's soccer leagues near their regular season conclusions.

In women's action last week at Hackett Park, Blazers topped Fusion 6-0.

Blazers' Ashley Taylor ran all the defensivered lights to post her fourth hat trick of the season, while singles came from Astrid Bradbury, Annie Clark, and Jacquie 'Jackie O'Ostroskywho put on a show for husband Aristotle and family.

In men's action at Connor Park, Halfmoon Bay tripped up the Sechelt Chiefs 3-0.

Chiefs' Scott Johnsonlooked like he was getting jumped in an alley, as he was constantly swarmed by at least two Halfmoon Bay defenders. With Johnson being mauled at one end of the field, Halfmoon Bay's Jeff Wadge nicely hit his placekick of the underside of the bar and over the line. Halfmoon Bay rookie Jesse Morantz continues to hit his stride as he put away another two this week.

Halfmoon Bay were not as lucky playing during the gale up at Kinnikinnick against Ridgepoint where they went down 2-1 on a pair from Mike Husband. Halfmoon Bay's Keith 'Donkeyboot' Donkersloot announced his return to league play with crashing cymbals, with his head being one cymbal and the ball the other, as he stepped up tohead butt home their lone goal.

Pender Harbour Bananas and Ridgepoint played to a 1-1 tie in another game.

For Pender,Dennis 'Denni-Lou' Tasic barrelledthrough the backline as heconverted a pass from Rod 'Rodnaldo' Kammerle, who lately seems content to give up some of the scoring limelight and play more of a supportive role. In the 87th minute,Mike Husband, who has scored 63 per cent of Ridgpoint's goals, denied Pender the extra two points. Pender seems to have regained the footing that gave them the longest winning streak in men's league history aftertheir halftime wobble, and will be looking to add a second tournament win in a row to their league championship in the coming weeks.
