The Rain'er Shine Pirates remain in top spot of the Sunshine Coast Men's Fastball League with one more week to go before the playoffs.
On Wednesday, July 25, the Pirates knocked off the Lighthouse/IGA Brewers 7-2.
Terry Williams improved his record to 5-1 with the win, and Corey Kabosh went three for three leading the Pirates' bats, along with an Andrew Baron long ball.
For the Brewers, Darren Kohuch had the lone RBIs with a line drive double.
Also last Wednesday the Relics won their first game of the season with a 15-14 win over Lon's Gun Show.
Jordan Peever had two home runs and Eoin Ross and Taylor Hanchar hit well for the Gun Show going four for five, but it wasn't enough to stop the Relics from getting their first win.
Last Friday, Custom Carpet beat the Relics 9-3. Jeremy Rollins pitched a complete game for Custom, while Randy Younghusband pitched well for the Relics in the loss.
On Monday night, Gun Show had to forfeit a game against the Brewers as Gun Show has been plagued with a number of key, late season injuries.
In the other game, Custom continued its strong play of late with a 12-8 win over the RJS Blue Jays.
Rollins pitched a complete game and also powered the offence with a grand slam over the left field fence in the bottom of the third and blasted another two-run shot in the fifth.
Dave Moran started the game for RJS, but came out after the first inning and Tyler Starnes pitched rest of the game.Moran hit a laser out to left field, but Brendan Meyers made a ridiculous catch to rob him of a hit.
Two more games were played Wednesday night, past deadline with the final regular season games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The playoff weekend is Aug. 10 to 12 with all the action at Brothers Park in Gibsons.
