Peewee's play for banner on Saturday

Another banner could be hanging in the rafters at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre for the Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association.

The peewee house league checking team is playing for the championship playoff banner this Saturday in North Vancouver against the undefeated North Shore Winter Club.

After placing third in the Lions Gate checking division, the peewee C2 team came out playinghard in the round robin playoffs.

The first team they facedwas the Hollyburn Country Club, a team they previously have one tie and one loss with.Sunshine Coastwon this game 3-0 and set the pace for the next three games, which they won 6-1, 8-2 and 8-1.

The team allowed only four goals in four games, thanks to its stellar goal tendingalong with its impressivedefensive play,and the offence was strong, scoring 24 goals in four games. The Blues compiled the best record in the peewee checkingplayoffs.

This team has come so far this year, and each player is a key factor to the game.Win or lose, they are a great team and play with huge heart. Good luck to them all.
