July 17 was an epic day of baseball for the Sunshine Coast Baseball Association’s (SCBA) 11U All-Stars. Kicking off a three-game North versus South Sunshine Coast series with their counterparts from Powell River, Game 1 was played at Ryan Dempster Field in Gibsons on Saturday. Great offence and defence from both sides and four lead changes made for an exciting game. At the end of a full seven innings, the SCBA Athletics won by a score of 14-10. They’ll complete the series in a double-header Saturday, July 24 in Powell River. The team thanks its sponsor Beachcomber Coffee.
