Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association wrapped up their season with a well-attended year-end celebration and awards night at the Gibsons arena.

The Sunshine Coast Blues had a great season, with teams playing over 196 games, scoring 1,012 goals and involving 550 officials. The association hosted four tournaments and brought 25 off-Coast teams to enjoy the Coast for the weekend, including a team from China. 

Teams brought home an unprecedented six league banners and the Bantam A team made it all the way to the Provincials. 

Award winners: 

• Most Sportsmanlike Team: Peewee A

• Most Improved Team: Atom C2

• Hockey Spirit Award: Bantam A team

• Bantam A Award of Excellence: Jaden Fodchuck

• Darryl Baker Memorial Award: Julian Miles

• Dallas Hein Memorial Award: Quinn Ewert

• Brenda Rowe was awarded for her many years of service and dedication to the association with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The association’s sponsors, coaches, players, families and the community were thanked for a fantastic season.
