The Midget House C1 squad will play for the playoff banner on Saturday in Squamish.

The local squad finished the playoff round with a 6-1 win over Whistler last Sunday at home to finish on top in the round-robin playoff, one point ahead of Hollyburn. The two teams hook up on Saturday for the banner.

"I'm pleased with the series and excited the boys made it to the final," said head coach Nick Bergnach. "The boys have worked hard for this and they deserve to be there. We could have won by a bigger score against Whistler, but we had a tough time with the referee from Vancouver. He was a real homer and he gave us a lot of unjustified penalties, I thought. It shows the character of our team though, as we rose above it and found a way to win."

The Midget C2 House team saw its season end after a 4-4 tie last weekend with North Shore Winter Club.

The C2 squad finished 2-1-3 in the playoffs and missed playing in the final by two points.

"We knocked the Winter Club out, so that was kind of nice to play spoiler," said coach Mark Holm. "Our team really improved its play towards the end of the season. I'm very proud of the team."

Mike Holm, Mike Leibing, Matt Brown and Duncan Cameron scored goals. Taylor Fancher, Lance Moran and Mike Leibing added assists.

Peewee RepThe Peewee Rep Blues continued playoff play, picking up a 3-3 tie in Vancouver against the T-Birds on Saturday and edging Seafair 4-3 on Sunday at home.

The Blues came out lacking intensity on Saturday and were down 3-1 before they stormed back in the third period to earn the tie.

On Sunday, the Blues came out strong.

The first shift had Brendan Laird, Reece Nelsen and Jeremy Dempster execute a perfect dump-in into the Seafair end that resulted in a goal, just as it was drawn up on the board before the game.

Aggressive penalty calling had the Blues playing short-handed and helped to keep them from getting any real flow or pace to their game. But good goaltending and hard work paid off in the end as the Blues held on for the win.

Next up for the Blues is a game Saturday in Hollyburn and Sunday at 12:15 p.m. at home against North Vancouver.

Bantam RepThe Bantam Blues started the Presidents' Series last weekend, facing Arbutus and Mission.

In the first game, the Blues played superbly against Arbutus and came away with an 8-2 victory.

The Blues were led offensively by Mike Gray with two goals and two assists, Graham Marsh with a goal and three assists and Shayne Newcombe with a goal and two assists.

Brandon Kohuch, Jesse Ostrosky, Darcy Chernowsky and Cam Graham rounded out the scoring.

"We played very well as a team and moved the puck exceptionally well," said coach Randy Younghusband. "It was great that the players were rewarded with a win."

In the second game, the Blues travelled to Mission and ended up on the wrong end of a 7-2 score.

The Blues again played very well but were unable to contain Mission's outstanding forward pairing, who accounted for six of the seven goals. The Blues were tied until late in the second period, as Darcy floated a shot past the Mission goaltender and Graham buried a rebound after a point shot by Colton Vaughn.

"The Mission Stars played physical and leaned on their two dominant players to provide the necessary offence," added Younghusband.

Midget RepThe Midget Rep Blues had a tough go of it last weekend as they lost to Aldergrove and Mission in a penalty-filled contest.

The Blues finish off the season this weekend in Richmond.
