Adding an exciting twist to the weekend is the opportunity to win some serious cash if participants have what it takes. You betthe racer who comes closest to a perfect reaction time during eliminations will find a cool $1,000 in their pockets.

Bragging rights are one thing, but cash in the pocket helps cover some expenses. Likewise, if your car is really fast and you have the fastest et in during eliminations there is a $1,000 cheque waiting for you during the awards presentations.

Members of the Sunshine Coast Drag Racing Association (SCDRA) have partnered with the administration at Elphinstone Secondary School. Last year students, teachers and SCDRA volunteers started preparing two donated drag cars. The school drag racing team will be ready for the weekend.

And now for something completely different! It's not all about Ford, GM or Mopar this weekend either check out the exotic supercars making the trip from the Lower Mainland. It's going to be a rare sight as American muscle finds an Italian or German exotic on the other side of the tree. This should be interesting, maybe a bit controversial and potentially tough on a few egos!

Race classes are: street machine, super street, street rod, hot rod and exhibition.

All racers and spectators are welcome. Bring your friends, chairs, sun screen and be prepared to have a good time. A gentle reminder that pets aren't permitted on the site.
