Dragon boating
Spirit of Aloha Racing (SOAR) competed in its second race of the year at the Brotchie Reach Outrigger Canoe event in Victoria May 2.
Due to an injury to team regular Tara Sullivan, Bill Drinkwater was brought in to replace her for his first long distance outrigger race. This forced SOAR to compete in the tougher men's division instead of the mixed.
SOAR finished the 13.4 km race in a time of 1:09:28, placing third in the men's masters division and eighth overall. The team included Drinkwater, Marc Lavertu, Greg Smith, Ron Dickinson, Tanya Clarke and Sonya Bergen.
