Pender Harbour's Joe Antilla is mapping out his hockey future.

Last Thursday, Joe was drafted in round four with the 76th pick by the Kootenay Ice in the Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft.

Contacted last Friday afternoon in Saskatchewan, where he is finishing his school year at the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, Joe said he was very happy to be selected.

"I talked with the coaches already and they congratulated me and welcomed me to the team," he said.

Joe will report to Kootenay in August for training camp.

Because he is 15 years old, WHL rules state that he can play only limited games with the team. Once he turns 16, he'll be able to play as many games with the team as the team wants. He said most likely after training camp he'll return to Notre Dame.

Joe is coming off a great campaign with Notre Dame.

His Bantam AAA team won their league championship with an undefeated record and won a major international tournament in Kamloops - two feats last year's team at Notre Dame couldn't accomplish.

He'll be finished at Notre Dame on June 7.

"I'm looking forward to going fishing with my dad," he said.
