Thirteen classes have just wrapped up a successful set of junior gold classes hosted by the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club.
Participating schools included Gibsons, Cedar Grove, Langdale, Davis Bay and Robert Creek elementary schools with close to 300 students improving their golf through the use of the Starting New at Golf (SNAG) coaching package, a unique collection of oversize clubs with larger balls and fun targets and training aids.
If you are interested in seeing this program implemented at your school this autumn, contact CPGA teaching professional Kirk Nederpelt at 604-885-9212 or email [email protected].
On June 27, 30 junior golfers participated in the June junior clinic finale.
The finale featured a three-hole scramble tournament, a putting competition and a chipping competition. A barbecue and prizes for everyone rounded out the day's activities.
Many thanks to the adult volunteers who helped chaperone the teams around the course.
The July junior clinics are open to juniors from the age of six to 18 and will run July 13 to 14 and 17 to 18 at a cost of $50 plus GST (free to junior members of the golf club).
Registration for the four one-hour sessions is required by calling 604-885-9212.
