The Kootenay Ice are one win away from the Memorial Cup.

The Ice and Maderia Park's Joe Antilla took a 3-1 stranglehold in their best-of-seven Western Hockey League Championship series with the Portland Winterhawks with a 5-4 overtime win Wednesday night.

Antilla was the overtime hero Tuesday night as he scored the winning goal, giving the Ice a 3-2 win.

The goal was Antilla's ninth of the playoffs and his second overtime winner. Game five is tonight (Friday) in Portland. If Portland wins, the series will shift back to Kootenay for game six Sunday night. If the Ice win, then they claim the WHL championship and the league berth in the Memorial Cup.

The Winterhawks won the series opener 6-5 in overtime on May 6 with Antilla scoring once for the Ice. Kootenay battled back on May 7 to tie the series at 1-1 with a 7-5 win. Antilla added one assist.

His other start in the past week was a no-decision in the Cubs 4-1 win over Los Angeles on May 3. Dempster went seven innings, allowing six hits and one run with two walks and five strikeouts.
