"These girls have worked hard all year, starting the season out with Karen Magnussen, who came from Vancouver to start their season on time while awaiting the arrival of Adam Zalegowski, the new director of coaching," said club president Jill-Marie Jarvis. "With Adam's arrival and the combined efforts of Chantelle Dibley, Anita Flay and Genevieve Pierre, the club has been a driving force all season."

The club is in Parksville for the Vancouver Island International on April 20. In the meantime, the club presents the 2006 Ice Show on Sunday, April 9, at the Sunshine Coast Arena. In addition to showcasing the entire skate club, from three to 16 years of age, they have managed to secure a star-powered line-up of guest skaters. Magnussen will be there supporting her pre-novice competitor Larrisa VanAs. Eriq Lyons, 2001 men's Junior Champion, will perform two numbers in each show. Junior ladies' competitor Alexis Wik and senior ladies' competitor Sarah Metcalfe representing Vancouver and Killarney Skate Clubs will perform a very entertaining duet. And Victor Kraatz himself is sending his students, the 2006 Canadian Junior Dance Champions, Allie Hann-McCurdy and Michael Coreno.

The pair are the reigning Canadian Junior National Champions. Before pairing in 2003, both accomplished records with other partners. It is definitely a show worth seeing. Tickets are available at Coast Books in Gibsons, Talewind Books in Sechelt or at the door. Performances are at 1 and 3:30 p.m., Sunday, April 9.
