More than 100 golfers competed in the feature event at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club - the 38th annual Sea Cavalcade Golf Tournament on the August long weekend.
The golf course was once again in spectacular condition for the tournament, and was given rave reviews by all the visiting players.
The competition was fierce with nine men within four shots of the first round leading score of 71, which was posted by Mike Mannion.
In the end Mannion took home the title in a three-hole playoff over Stu Clements with a two round total of 144.
Clements won the men's net championship after a thrilling round with five birdies between holes five and 13.
Kelowna resident Martina Osman won the ladies division holding off runner-up Deb Snedon by eight strokes.
For the second year a senior division (55 and over) was contested. The champion was Ry Kuntsi of Myrtle Point Golf Club in Powell River, while the net champion was Craig Donaldson.
Other highlights included a hole in one by Lorne Wilson on number three on Sunday morning, Aug. 1.
Wilson cashed in winning $5,000 which was sponsored by Advantage Dental and the Blackfish Pub. Dean Totten and Chris Reid won the horse race event on Friday night, July 30.
On Saturday night Connor Richey won the big break by firing his last shot through the window.
"Thank you to all the players, volunteers, and staff who worked so hard to make the event a success," said head professional Jim Pringle. "I would like to acknowledge in particular Linda Code, Greg Kocher, L.J. Wall and Bob Burney for their help in running the event"
