Esso Hockey Fun Days

The Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association (SCMHA) is hosting six sessions of the Esso Hockey Fun Days. These free sessions are open to girls interested in playing hockey.

These six on-ice sessions build on the success of the one-day Esso Fun Day hosted in the spring of 2017 – which saw over 20 girls taking the ice.

The sessions are designed to introduce the game of hockey in a fun and supportive learning environment. Participants will develop the key aspects of hockey – skating, stickhandling, passing and shooting.

Esso Fun Days are free for participants. SCMHA has partnered with the SCRD’s One Goal Program to offer participants free gear.

Sessions are scheduled for the Sunshine Coast (Sechelt) Arena for: March 31 at noon; April 1 at noon; April 6 at 4 p.m.; April 7 at 9 a.m.; April 8 at noon; and April 16 time TBA. Girls should not hesitate to register because they cannot make all the ice times.

Esso Fun Day participants will have the opportunity to experience team spirit, develop self-confidence and experience a sense of achievement. SCMHA hopes to attract additional female players to build on the increasing number of female athletes playing minor hockey on the Sunshine Coast and across Canada.

Participants do need to pre-register. To register or to ask any further questions please contact Christie Totten by email: [email protected].
