The Sunshine Coast Volleyball Club’s U16 girls’ team had a very successful tournament at the Provincial Championships in Abbotsford last weekend. After competing at various Volleyball BC tournaments in the Lower Mainland and Victoria over the last few months, the team came into Provincials ranked 16th.

The tournament opened up with a pair of tough losses, but the team rebounded by winning their next four matches in the playoffs, defeating teams from Kamloops, Coquitlam, Penticton, and Prince George without losing a set. The team finished the tournament in a very respectable 9th place out of a total of 55 teams.

The girls will now have a couple of weeks to train in preparation for a great opportunity to play in the National Club Championships, which are being held in Edmonton from May 17 to 19. This event will play host to over 800 teams from across Canada.
