Gibsons Minor Baseball Association represented Gibsons Re/Max Oceanview peewee team and picked up a bronze medal at the President's Cup tournament in East Vancouver the weekend of May 27 to 29.
Gibsons started slowly against Burnaby in the first game, but a home run by Tim Walters, a triple by James Bradwell and hits by Cameron Longman and Max McDicken sparked the offence on the way to a 12-6 win.
On Saturday, Gibsons played back-to-back games. Luke Petreny pitched well to close out three of the last four innings with no runs allowed. Callum Fallis played well at first base with Josh Mowbray at home plate with some great "throw outs" to first and second. The evening game was won 13-5 with Matt Olsen and James Bradwell pitching well. Terrance Josephson, Ken Ouchi-Moir and a home run hit by Callum in the final game rounded out the strong play.
