The Battle of the Dojos is an annual karate tournament that was started in 1984 by Sensei Frank Clayton, current owner and operator of the Canadian Martial Arts Academy in Powell River.

It began with two martial arts schools competing against each other and has now grown to five schools competing each year for the championship trophy.

The Battle of the Dojos will be hosted in Gibsons this year by Sensei Dylan Clark, owner and operator of Sunshine Coast Martial Arts in Sechelt on Saturday, May 13 in the Elphinstone Secondary School gymnasium.

Competitors from Powell River, Chilliwack, Vernon, and Maple Ridge will vie against our local martial artists for the highly coveted championship title.

Competition begins at 10 a.m.  Spectators are welcome to come show their support and cheer our team on to victory!
