A new season has started for the Sunshine Coast Men's Fastball League.

The Sunshine Coast Men’s Fastball League opened play this week with four games.

On Monday night, Brewers beat Gilligans 9-2 on the strength of a Tyler Graham home run and a solid pitching performance by Bill Stockwell.

Custom Carpet picked up its first win, 8-4 over the Jays.

Brennan Mayers pitched five strong innings, with Matt Fawcus coming in to relieve him for Custom. Rudi Brackett led the offensive attack for Custom with a three-run homer.

On Wednesday, the Brewers edged Custom 12-9.

Custom was coasting to an easy victory up six runs until Graydon Benner hit a three-run shot, which was followed by a solo shot from Therin Hemstalk to help the Brewers to the come-from-behind win.

Wednesday’s other game saw Lon’s Gun Show edge Gilligans 12-8.

The Gun Show also had to come back from a five-run deficit, which was fueled by two home runs from Steve Stevenson.
