All good things must come to an end.

The Midget House squad suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday as they dropped a 2-0 decision to North Vancouver at the Sunshine Coast Arena. The squad sits with a record of 14-1 and will look to rebound this weekend as they play a pair of games in Vancouver.

"We outplayed them, but we ran into a really hot goaltending. He made some exceptional saves," said coach Nick Bergnach. "I think the refereeing was also very poor. Everyone saw that we had scored a goal and they said we didn't and called for a face-off. It's frustrating when you get a call like that. But the bottom line is, they scored and we didn't."

Bergnach said he's confident the team will rebound this weekend and start a new winning streak.

"We have no individual super stars. Every time we hit the ice, they play as a team," he said. "Last weekend was a bit of an eye opener for them. They got knocked down a notch. It wasn't one of our best games, so I know the boys will rebound and get after it again this weekend."

Bantam RepThe Sunshine Coast Bantam Rep squad had an offensive power outage in a pair of losses last weekend.

On Saturday, the Bantams dropped a 6-3 decision to Arbutus, and on Sunday, lost 8-1 to the Burnaby Winter Club.

Cam Graham, Michael Gray and Darcy Chernowski scored goals in Saturday's game with Brandon Kohuch, Colton Vaughn, Graham Marsh, Michael Ondzik and Darcy picking up the assists.

On Sunday, Brady Bjornson scored the lone goal, while Colton was credited with the only assist.

The Bantams play a pair of home games this weekend as they entertain West Vancouver on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. against Coquitlam.

Peewee RepOn Saturday the Blues travelled for a game in Ridge Meadows.

The Blues were short a couple of players and had to face an over-abundance of penalties against them. The Blues perhaps didn't take Ridge Meadows seriously enough, having beat them 9-2 earlier at the Chilliwack Tournament during Christmas.

Unfortunately the Blues ended up on the wrong end of a 3-2 score.

On Sunday the Blues played a big team from Coquitlam.

The Blues scoring opened with Jeremy Dempster potting one early, with assists to Brendan Laird and Reece Nelson.

In the second period, Dustin Robinson scored, with the helper going to Connor Mathew-Smith. With 5:01 remaining in the second period, and Coquitlam hanging on to a 3-2 lead, the visitors were assessed a five-minute major penalty for a vicious elbow to the head that rattled Reece.

That seemed to rally the Blues and they diligently went to work on the power play. The goal-scoring barrage started with Matt Brown assisted by the returning Mitchell Lightfoot. This was followed closely with another goal from Dustin, with the assist going to Reece, who barely had time to shake off the elbow to his head. Next was Matt's second goal of the game unassisted. Then Mitchell scored with Matt returning the favour with seconds remaining in the major penalty.

The third period started with the Blues forwards plowing their way to the Coquitlam goal and finishing with Brendan scoring nine seconds after the opening face off. This time it was Jeremy returning the favour to make the score 7-3.

Coquitlam scored a couple to round out the third period, but it was not enough to catch the Blues, who won 7-5.

"The team did a good job keeping their emotions in check when the game could have got ugly, allowing us to keep that valuable sportsmanship point," said head coach Brent Parker. "We played a full three periods on Sunday, which made the difference in the outcome of the two games. It's really nice to see that the scoring is still being spread out between all three lines."

Next up for the team is a tilt with Squamish on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. in Sechelt.
