As this year’s division champions, the U13 Coastal Storm boys soccer team pondered their next move.
In entering the final tournament of the year at Burnaby Lake, it was decided to play up in the gold division and challenge the elite teams from the city. It looked daunting on paper, but this is the Storm who never gives up and can come from behind in almost all challenges they face.
After all the dust settled on this interesting experiment, partly to see if they will play up a division next year, the boys took silver and made it their own.
They fought against the best, they won some, tied some and lost some and rose to the challenge in every way. The coaches were proud looking forward to next year, the players saw what they needed to do against the best in the league, and everyone watching grinned in anticipation of more great soccer from these boys.
