Four Elphinstone Secondary School graduates put up excellent results at the B.C. Track and Field Championships held in Abbotsford July 17 and 18.
Kendra Pomfret, running for University of Victoria, won the18- to 19-year-oldwomen's 800m in a time of 2:13.05.
Clay Brown won the 18- to 19-year-old men's triple jump with a measure of 13.13m, and came third in the long jump with a measure of 6.15m. Brown, a 2010 grad, will attend the University of Guelph and will continue jumping with their varsity team.
The Kane sisters also put up good results. Michaela, a relative newcomer to the 800m distance, placed third in the 18- to 19-year-old division with a personal best time of 2:14.69. Older sister Brianna placed fifth in the 20- to 24-year-old women's 800 with a time of 2:10.54. The Kanes will continue to run with Simon Fraser University next year.
