Gibsons' Ryan Dempster dropped to 0-2 on the season after the Chicago Cubs lost 7-4 at the hands of cross-town rival Chicago White Sox last Saturday at Wrigley Field.
Dempster, who hasn't won in a span of 16 starts dating back to last August 11, gave up seven hits, four runs, with three walks and three strikeouts in six innings as the Cubs dropped to a season low 10 games under .500 with their fifth straight loss.
Dempster has struggled with no run support for most of the season, and again didn't get any support as the Cubs scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to make the score respectable.
In his other recent start, Dempster got a no decision in the Cubs 6-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on May 14.
Dempster gave up four hits over the first five innings and lead 4-0, but ran into trouble in the sixth allowing four runs on five hits leaving with the game tied 4-4. The Cubs picked up a pair of runs off the Cards bullpen in the eighth.
