Two in four for Dempster

Gibsons' Ryan Dempster picked up a pair of wins and two no decisions as the Boston Red Sox make their final push for a division title.

On Aug. 30, Dempster went 6 1-3 innings allowing three runs and five hits in a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

He was back on the mound Sept. 4 where he pitched six innings allowing only four runs in a 20-4 Sox drubbing of the Detroit Tigers.

The Red Sox won 7-3 in 10 innings over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sept. 11. Dempster pitched five innings in that game and allowed only one run, but gave up five walks and saw his pitch count elevated, which meant an early exit.

Tuesday night, Dempster pitched six innings allowing two runs as the Sox dropped a 3-2 decision to the Baltimore Orioles. The O's rallied for the win off the Sox bullpen.
