The Sunshine Coast Equestrian Club has announced that three local riders are headed to the equestrian competition of the B.C. Summer Games to be held in Duncan from July 19 to 22.

Brianna Yellowley, 15, will participate in dressage with her horse, Merlin; Brianna’s coach is Lynn Putland of Raven Horse Stables in Roberts Creek. Sarah Marshall, 16, has qualified to participate in stadium jumping with her horse, Navigator; Sarah’s coach is Jeanine Ellingham of Mason Bluff Farm in Sechelt. Jessa Girard, 17, will also participate in stadium jumping with her horse, Airtime; Jessa’s coach is Ginny Antilla of Pender Harbour.

Over the winter, these riders attended off-Coast competitions and needed to rank in the top four of each show in order to qualify. Competition is tight as only five riders from each provincial zone are selected to participate in the Games. The Sunshine Coast Equestrian Club is proud of these young people and wish each of them success.
