Four Sunshine Coast junior golfers are playing the best in the province this week at a pair of provincial championships.

The junior boys championship is being contested at the Meadow Garden Golf Course in Pitt Meadows July 8 to 11.

After the opening round, Sechelt’s Keenan Flemming is in a 12-way tie for 70th place after a round of 77.

Jacob Bland of Sechelt is in a nine-way tie for 101st spot after a round of 80, and Myles Killackey of Gibsons sits in a nine-way tie for 135th spot after a round of 85.

The women’s amateur is being contested at the Kamloops Golf and Country Club July 8 to 11.

Halfmoon Bay’s Avery Struck sits in a two-way tie for 35th after firing an opening round of 80.
