Club hosts fun tournament

It may have been a bit drizzly outside, but there was hot tennis going on at the Suncoast Racquet Club in Sechelt where a fun tournament was a Mother's Day highlight. A point system was used as 16 participants vied for prizes.

It may have been a bit drizzly outside, but there was hot tennis going on at the Suncoast Racquet Club in Sechelt where a fun tournament was a Mother's Day highlight.

A point system was used as 16 participants vied for prizes. As well as everyone having a great time, there were long rallies and tight games. Brian Humphrey and Barry Fjaagsand battled through a tiebreaker to determine one of the men's matches. At the end of the day Marian Shoemaker and Don Walters were tournament winners with Judi Lees and Terry Kvam placing second. Third place was Barry Kaufman and Barry Fjaagesand.

Special thanks to Michael Zanchetta of Sound Attractions and Eva's Day Spa for prize donations. The club also thanks tournament coordinator Marian Shoemaker and Scott Shoemaker who manned the barbecue.
