Chat captured the zone title last week after two gruelling days of competition in North Vancouver.

Chat finished with a final score of 641, good for an average score of 80. St. Thomas Aquinas finished in second place and will accompany Chat, representing this zone at the provincial championships set for this weekend at the Rivershore Golf Course in Kamloops.

Chat coach Dean Totten said he's happy with the team's play and is hopeful for a good showing in Kamloops.

"To be honest with you, I really don't know what to expect in Kamloops," Totten said. "We've got a pretty strong team. If we play the way we've been playing and the way we're capable of, I think we have a good shot at top five."

Chat's team was made up of 10 players who competed throughout the year in the North Shore league. Prior to playoffs, Totten held team playoffs to decide his final five, which would be the playoff team.

"Some of the toughest competition was within the team," said Totten. "Unfortunately, there are five guys who don't get to go. But everyone played this year and everyone helped this team win, not just the five going to provincials."

The provincial squad is made up of Sean Patton, Danny Baker, Bailey Quinn, Taylor Fancher and Rory Higdon.

"These guys have been playing very well, very consistent," Totten added.

The provincial format is similar to zones, where five players compete with the top four scores counting. The event will be over two days, and 16 teams will compete, two from each zone in the province.
