Julia Budd has successfully defended her Bellator MMA featherweight title.
Budd defeated Arlene Blencowe in a split decision at a Bellator event in Thackerville, Oklahoma Dec. 1.
Budd, who’s from Roberts Creek and trains at the Gibson MMA gym in Port Moody, became the first women’s Bellator featherweight champion in March in a title match against Marloes Coenen at the same venue.
Budd took to social media shortly after the fight, posting a picture with her championship belt and the message, “Thank you to all my family, friends and fans for the love and support and especially to my team… It was a tough fight and an even tougher training camp to get through, but we did it.”
