The Lighthouse Pub/IGA Brewers remain the lone unbeaten team in the Sunshine Coast Men's Fastball League.
The Brewers edged Custom Carpet 10-9 on Friday, July 19.
The game featured strong pitching from Jeremy Rowland and Therrin Hem-stalk with the Brewers erasing a four-run deficit in the last inning. Bryan Poulsen had the game-winning hit, bringing in two runs.
In the other game last Friday, the RJS Blue Jays beat Lon's Gun Show 8-3.
The Blue Jays jumped out to an 8-0 lead, as pitcher Steve Partridge was able to keep the Gun Show batters off balance at the plate.
Gun Show started a two-out rally, but the RJS defence used their cut-off to relay the ball in gunning Mike Sopow out at home to end the rally.
On Wednesday, July 15, Gibsons Pirates and Gilligan's Pub battled to a 10-10 tie.
Drew Johnson led the way with three doubles and three RBIs, aided by Kelly Hamblin and Greg Kelley scoring three runs each.
In the other game, the Brewers and Gun Show tied 3-3.
The Gun Show came out hot with Steve Stevenson knocking in two of the three runs, but the Brewers, fueled by a double by Mike Holmes, rallied back to tie the game. Eoin Ross made an amazing diving catch for the Gun Show to hold the Brewers to a tie.
On Monday, July 17, the Pirates beat the Blue Jays 17-7 on the heels of a solid outing by Josh Gray. Derek Duncan got the night started with a three-run homer in the first inning, and the Pirates never looked back.
In the other Monday game, Custom beat Gun Show 15-5.
Rowland pitched four solid innings and Brennan Myers pitched two. Danny Baker went five for five.
