Sunday was another super day for junior rugby and the Gibsons Pigs.

Gibsons started slow against the Capilanos U16 squad that came to the Coast on Sunday, but Gibsons pulled out their second win in as many weeks 33-31.

The game started out with fantastic pace, with both sides running the ball. The Caps had the better pressure and were rewarded with some nice break-throughs to go up by 14.

Things then got exciting as the home team began to click and created some wonderful ball handling and chase rugby.

Gibsons sprinted ahead with tries from Shane and Jessie Morrissey, who scored a combined five times with Shane kicking four conversions. The game remained competitive throughout with some great commitment to the ball. The Caps didn't relent and clawed their way back to a possible tie game, scoring a try with time running out. But the Caps missed the conversion and Gibsons hung on.

The junior Pigs have home games slated for March 13 and 27 at Cougar Field behind Elphinstone Secondary School. Both games kick off at 11:30 a.m.

Coach John Rainer reports that the team is always looking for players.
