In the women's league, Gibsons Pigs got greedy in their 4-0 win over the Xenichen Ya Yas with goals from Katherine Andres, Charly Mithrush and a pair from Devon Graham.

Gibsons' other team also notched a win as Mayhem got goals from Sara Bradshaw, Trina Giesbrecht, Tejada Stewart and returning striker Tawny 'Toots' Hargrave, while Sidney Celli leapt like a lioness to keep her goal mouth clear, though Fusion's Melissa Rayfield was not to be denied, as she put away a pass from Emily Gemmel.

In the men's league, Bruins staged a huge second half comeback as Gary 'Bend it Like Benner' Benner, took his jersey down from the rafters and returned to the league, to send in three converted corners, after IFC went up three on goals from Jeremy Budd, 'Flyin' Ryan Paul, and some merciless finishing from Rick Timothy.

Sechelt Chiefs also tied their match 1-1 with Gibsons Pigs United, on a soft tap-in from the man with the velvet socks, Scott Johnson. Chiefs' backline missed 'Dumptruck' Dan Meyers slamming into forwards like he'd lost his brakes on an eight per cent grade, and anticipate the arrival of midfielder 'Portuguese' Pete Cavolo.

K.C. and the Sunshine Band, (aka Ken Campbell and Sita FC), had Halfmoon Bay singing the blues after Daniel Scott's pair was trumped by Campbell's three of a kind, along with Eric Pinfold's single, in Sita's 4-2 win.

Pender Harbour Bananas arrived at Hackett sub-less, with their old school squad, and in the first half it was Michel Machado doing the schooling as he whistled his 25-yarder just shy of the uprights, while Rich Massullo and Denis Tasic worked some midfield magic.

The second half saw CPU step it up on pairs from Matt Summers, Kurt Vernon and Eoin Walker, and a single from Pat Braithwaite, who continues to use his head as a blunt instrument for battering balls.
